about

The tulip fields of Loren wave gently in a soft summer breeze. To the north, standing victoriously over the petal-laced horizon, you can see Thea, the capital of Heila. On the southern horizon there’s a storm brewing but it probably won’t be here for another few hours - you could take a brief break and still reach the next town while the sun is out.

The four of you continue your route through the flowers following an old desire path towards a stone dais. The parcel - whatever it contains - is still as heavy as it was when you picked it up. Something is pulling at you, making you feel vaguely at unease - is somebody following? The unease sits uncomfortably in your stomach, heavy like whatever it is in that box you’ve been told not to open.

You walk for a few more minutes to reach the stone dais and then stop to catch your breath. As you all do so you realise: it’s broken. The stone disc, half-buried in the earth, has been split entirely down the middle - a rough and ragged separation.
